    World’s nine largest gemstones for sale

    The nine largest gemstones in the world have been made available for sale.

    The Ophir Collection includes the Ophir Sapphire. Weighing 31,308 carats, the blue stone is roughly the size of a dinner plate and is recognized by Guinness World Records as the largest faceted Sapphire in the world – one of nine gems to have been awarded a Guinness World Record title.

    Scotland farmland up

    Scotland’s farmland values jumped by almost 2 per cent in the first half of 2014, according to Knight Frank. The firm’s latest report reveals that values are now up to £4,329 per acre, taking growth over the last year to 8 per cent. Indeed, prices are now over 220 per cent higher than a decade ago.

    Farm agent James Denne says that the growth of values in the face of political uncertainty surrounding the referendum for Scotland’s independence is testament to the market’s strenght.
